Hot Springs Trail Restoration - COMPLETED

The Nakusp Hot Springs Trail is a short, low-elevation trail that’s well-loved by both locals and visitors. It offers easy access to the Hot Springs source and connects to other nearby trails for those looking for a longer adventure.

Due to age and wear, the trail has undergone some much-needed improvements. These upgrades have made the trail safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for people of all ages and abilities.

We would like to thank Pacific Economic Development Canada (PacifiCan) and Columbia Basin Trust for their support and funding of this project.

Boardwalk off of Bridge

What Happened
New boardwalks were built, and a clear walkway was added through rocky and boggy areas near the source to protect sensitive habitats and biodiversity. These changes will improve safety and preserve the natural environment.

Construction Details
Trail crews worked on-site daily. Some sections of the trail were temporarily closed during construction, especially the area between the Hot Springs and Kuskanax Bridge. Work continued through August, and the improved trail opened to the public on September 17, 2025.
